A performance moving through the store, dealing with the theme of stone, both natural and artificial, in culture and nature, aiming to build a bridge between them. Various stories and images on the subject formed the basis of the performance, which took place in three areas of the store. During the process of assembling the performance, the artists engaged with the significance of stone. In this way, they found intersections with each other, as well as meanings for the store. By confronting stone, they wanted to place their meanings in a new context. On a deeper level, it also allowed for an exploration of what this material, stone, says about us and our identities.
The audience initially gathered in the outside area of the store, where they could experience a performative part with audio elements. After that, the audience was led inside, where they could immerse themselves in stories told through theatrical, musical, and visual elements. Finally, the audience was led back outside. To the left of the store, the performance culminated on the stage of the liquid stone in a scenic and interactive music piece.
The performative work attracted viewers from Stolec as well as from Szczecin and the surrounding area. In the Market Groseria, the artists spent an evening narrating and exchanging stories with the diverse audience.
The performance “Stony Fragments” was created by an interdisciplinary team based on an idea by Malik Meyer. Ola Supernak directed the first part of the performance, while Marcel Tadeusz Jarocki designed the scenography and performed within it. Both were accompanied by the sound work of Kolja Kraft.
Alicia Hałas, Jacek Hałas, Mariia Lisovska, Jules Rodgers and Ana Esteban Carretero performed indoors the second part of the performance. This segment was directed and designed by Julia Hałas.
In the outdoor area, on the stage of the liquid stone, Katarzyna Kupiec and Kolja Kraft performed directed by Malik Meyer. The scenography, a dynamic interplay of stone elements and visual works by Julia Hałas Kolja Kraft, created the atmosphere.
The performance concluded with Jacek Hałas, who played a stone instrument, drawing the audience out of the silence and inviting them to follow the stony music.
